| Simple Three Step Enrollment
Step One: Qualify
- You must live or work in our nine-county service area of Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter or Volusia County.
- You must use an alternative mode of transportation - like carpooling, vanpooling, riding the bus, riding your bike, or walking - at least two days per week.
Step Two: Register
- You must be pre-registered with reThink in order to submit a Reimbursement Claim Form.
- You can register your online commuter profile by clicking on the, "I would like to create a new account" button at the bottom of this page.
- You can also register over the phone by calling 1-866-610-RIDE (7433).
- You can submit a paper registration by fax or email. Please call or email us at ERH@reThinkYourCommute.com to request a paper form.
- Please note that your registration only enrolls YOU in the Emergency Ride Home program. If you share the ride to work in a carpool or a vanpool, each member of the carpool/vanpool must be registered with reThink to take advantage of this benefit. So be sure to share this program with your pool today!
Step Three: Update Us
- At this time, we are requiring that you verify your commute status with us every three months. You can verify or update your profile by logging in through our website every three months.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What qualifies as an emergency?
• Illness
Sometimes illness unexpectedly strikes while we’re at work. When this happens, your carpool or vanpool group may not be able to take you home. Likewise, if you use transit, walk or bike to work, the last thing you may be able to do when you’re sick is pedal or walk home. Unexpected illness during work hours is a qualifying emergency event. Another example of a qualifying emergency event is if
a dependent (e.g. a child) is sick and you must leave work in order to provide care.
• Having to unexpectedly work late
Even the most compatible carpool or vanpool group may find themselves in a situation where the driver or one of the passengers needs to stay at work for some surprise overtime. There may also be situations where you unexpectedly need to work later than the last scheduled transit route home. Unexpected overtime is a qualifying emergency event.
Q: I pool with my spouse. Does that count?
A: Absolutely! Any two adults who pool at least two days per week are eligible.
Q: What can be reimbursed?
A: • Cost of mileage - If a co-worker or your manager drives you home, you can request reThink to pay for their mileage
• Cost of a taxi

• Each reimbursement request cannot exceed $150
• Each registered commuter is limited to a total of four reimbursements every calendar year
• Reimbursement requests are non-transferable
Q: Am I limited to a certain number of uses? Is there a maximum reimbursement amount?
A: Participants are allowed up to four (4) uses per calendar year. Each claim may be reimbursed up to $150.
